The 1984 Election By Ronald Reagan - 1122 Words

The 1984 Election As the sun rose on the beautiful American Heartland the soft tone of a narrator quietly said that is was, â€Å"morning again in America† (Morgado). The ad’s soft subtle music would go on to describe the growing prosperous nation. Lines like, â€Å"more men and women will go to work than ever before in our country’s history† and â€Å"inflation is at half it was 4 years ago† (Morgado) the ad spoke of a booming country. The ad â€Å"Morning in America† echoes the overall message Ronald Reagan’s campaign attempted to create in the 1984 presidential election against Walter Mondale. The country under Reagan had dug itself out of high inflation, and the â€Å"malaise† era, and was back on track thanks to the leadership of our president. This message seemed to work, Reagan would go on to win a historical landslide against Walter Mondale, winning 525 electoral votes to Mondale’s 13 (Pomper 65). Mondale would only win his home state of Minnesota and the District of Columbia (Pomper 65). The purpose this paper is to examine the effect the economy played in securing Reagan’s reelection. Software Developers, Market Researchers and Financial Analysts Are Our Future

General idea of success in the past was choosing a future vocation carefully, going to a prestigious college, getting a stable job and then sticking to it for the majority of your life, relentlessly climbing up the career ladder and, probably, switching to a larger company a couple of times in the process. But we live in the information age – however trite this remark may sound by now, it is still true. This means that situation in the job market may change considerably in just a couple of years, and the world you meet graduating from college may be quite different from what the world was like when you applied for admission. This, in the long run, means that your current college degree shouldn’t define what you will do for the rest of your life. If you see a better venture, don’t be afraid to retrain and move over there. It is not unheard-of for social science grads to leap to accounting or something else. So, what is our future looking like right now, in terms of jobs? A well-respected tool to help you out here is the Hot Careers Report by University of California, San Diego Extension. As it has been for quite a while, software developers, computer network architects and marketing analysts head the list of the hottest jobs. And it is likely that this tendency is going to remain strong. After all, every year brings us new breakthroughs in the areas of big data, cloud computing, mobile devices and so on. The mobile market alone simply exploded over the last few years, creating enormous demand for new applications and, therefore, exceptional demand for new professionals in the area. However, digital world isn’t the only hot thing right now. Surprisingly for some (and all too expectedly for others) today we see a noticeable upsurge in demand for such professions as financial analysts and advisors, elementary school teachers, nurses, physical therapists, accountants, auditors and so on. The reason for it is all too simple. We have recently reached the stage at which massive population of Baby Boomers started to go into retirement. This, on the one hand, leads to decrease in pensions and, on the other hand, to growing demand in specialists who would help aging people prepare to their retirements and those already retired manage their finances and affairs in general. They demand healthcare as well, hence the demand for nurses and physical therapists. In addition to that, numerous representatives of some professions, like elementary school teachers, are retiring as well, which leads to growing demand for their services that isn’t going to be rectified for some years. In other words, professions dealing with all things digital are still leading the way – the area keeps expanding and demands more and more professionals. But it doesn’t mean that other walks of life are to be ignored – there are numerous ways of building excellent careers for those who are not inclined to this kind of work.

My Religion Essay - 684 Words

My Religion What religion am I? In my life, I have been told many things about my religion. My mother is a Roman Catholic, while my father is Jewish. I have learned about both religions, and I have tried to practice both as best I could, but I am now faced with the decision; which one am I? Christians believe that Jesus is both God and man, incarnation of God, and man -gives man two natures, physical and divined that they are united in one person. Thus the mystery of God becoming a human being, Jesus, and suffered and died, and Mary (Jesus mother) was the mother of God. Judaism is the complex expression of a religious community, a way of life as well as a set of basic beliefs and values, which is separated in patterns of action, social order, and culture as well as in religious statements and concepts. The ideal is to remember God in everything one does, through prayer and keeping the commandments. There are many spiritual practices that the Jewish people follow as a reminder of their faith and as a way to engage all the senses in awareness of God. Some of these scared practices include: circumcision, Sabbath, eating kosher foods, and Bar Mitzvah. Of all of the commandments in Judaism, the brit milah, is probably the one most universally observed. It is commonly referred to as a bris. Even the most seculars of Jews, who observe no other part of Judaism, almost always observe these laws. Boys are ritually circumcised when they are eight days old, to honor the seal of Gods commandment to Abraham. A person who is uncircumcised suffers the penalty of ka reit, spiritual elimination. Sabbath is the most important ritual observance in Judaism. It is primarily a day of rest and spiritual enrichment. The Jewish Sabbath runs from sunset Friday night to sunset Saturday night. Standardized Tests Essay - 1290 Words

Teachers spend time on the memorization of specific words that will be on the state test, not vocabulary building exercises. Educators have pep rallies that take educational time away from lesson plans and teaching in order to have the students learn cheers expressing how well they are going to do on the state test. Excess teacher and administration time is spent figuring out game plans, but not for teaching students, rather for figuring out how to increase test scores. Meanwhile, when students are truly excited about exploring a topic in depth, they are shut down because there is no time to learn, only time to memorize items that might be on these tests. Standardized tests waste classroom time and do not accurately measure†¦show more content†¦Many high school students do not even take these tests seriously because many of them are at the same intellectual level as adults and realize that the tests are flawed. Still, they might not consider that these flawed tests might lessen their chances of getting into college. Certainly, one could envision a system of standardized tests where learning is at the center. These tests are biased and prefer certain groups over others, making them unfair and denying equal opportunity for education. Minority and low income students are affected far more than middle-class, majority students. In fact, if the government persists in making a students graduation rest on a single test, the result over the next few years could be a scenario that might be â€Å"described as an educational ethnic cleansing† (Kohn, 2000). It is unfair to base a schools funding on these tests when clearly any underperforming schools would benefit greater from an increase of resources as opposed to schools that perform at a higher level. Every year 1.2 million students fail to graduate from high school based on their test scores and therefore, cost the Nation more than $3.1 million in lost wages, taxes, and productivity over their lifetimes (Congress, 2011). Statistics and Business Research Method Leadership Performance

Question: Discuss about the Statistics and Business Research Method for Leadership Performance. Answer: Introducrtion: The Impact of Leadership on the Performance of the Organizations: A Study of Small Scale Enterprises in Nigeria The definition or concept of leadership varies from one particular situation or person to another. The application of leadership can be witnesses in various endeavours of human, such as business, politics, social works, and academics. Based on the argument raised by Messick and Kramer (2014), the degree to which individuals demonstrate their leadership traits not only depends on their personal abilities and characteristics, but also on the nature of related situation and environment. The performance of leadership directly links with the improvement of organizational performance. The basic growth of organizational performance is attributed to the certain modifications of leadership. Hence, it is crucial for the empirical studies to generate a link between leadership and performance of the organization from the context of the small-scale industries of Nigeria. Literature developed formerly failed to investigate the specific nature of relationship between leadership and performance from the certain industrial perspective. Research Questions Following research questions are developed to guide the investigation as part of the study: What is the effect of key leadership styles on the performance of the small-scale organizations of Nigeria? How leadership behaviours connect with the performance of the organization? What are the conceptualisations and measures of organizational performance? Theory, Assumptions, and Background Literature Reviewing the literature takes the pivotal role in the field of studying organizational behaviours. Based on the priority of this study, it has been noticed that leadership plays the dynamic role in shaping up the interactions among the individuals and organizations. In other words, the capabilities associated with leadership control the ability to manage and execute the collaborated efforts within the organization. Lee and Chuang (2012) explained that an excellent leader not only motivates the potential capabilities of its subordinates, but also ensure the availability of the requirements to facilitate the organization achieving its predefined goals. With compliance to the particular understanding, the argument developed by Stogdill (2013) referred leadership as the set of behaviours guiding the group of individuals to achieve the common goals of the business. Similarly, Fry (2013) has indicated leadership as the utilisation of effective strategies for offering inspirations to the s taffs with the aim of enhancing their performance and ultimately contributing to the growth and development. On the other hand, the statement made by Mehra et al. (2014) suggested that the leadership styles and approaches are responsible to help the organizations outperform others in the similar industry. Therefore, the leaders are responsible to adopt the appropriate leadership styles and techniques to develop collective norms for the team members for assisting them coping up with the environment and coordinating their collective actions. Variables and Hypothesis The hypothesis with the dependent and independent variables of the study are identified below: H0: There is no vital correlation between the specific styles of leadership and productivity of the organization. H1: There is the presence of vital correlation between the specific styles of leadership and productivity of the organization. H2: The productivity of the organizational performance depends on the appropriateness of leadership behaviours depending on the specific situations and environment. Research Methodologies and Techniques The research is intended to involve some appropriate set of approaches or methods to investigate and analyse the collected data for finding the solutions to the chosen problem. The particular study is performed to examine the impact of leadership on the growth of the firms in the identified market segment and the achievement of organizational objectives. Considering the nature of the study, both quantitative and qualitative research methods will be applied for satisfying the aim of collecting relevant and in-depth information. As part of the quantitative method, mainly the statistical and numerical data will be collected. It will mainly represent the countable results out of the process. Hence, the particular process will help to generate the average or highs and lows for ranking the results. Unlike quantitative research approach, qualitative research will deal with the systematic utilisation of the specific set of procedures supporting the development of solutions to the identified problem of the study. The particular process of research is important to obtain the culture-oriented information associated with the organization, such as the values, opinions, behaviours, and social and cultural contexts of the organizational members. The information obtained from the identified method is expected to develop a complete overview of the ch osen context to achieve the aims and objective of the particular study. Research Process The research is primarily based on the collection of primary data with the help of questionnaires for the employees working at the small-scale organizations of the chosen country. Apart from that, the collection of primary data is also planned to be based on conducting an interview with the leaders and managers of the chosen enterprises. On the other hand, the qualitative data is expected to be collected through the analysis of past research and information about the chosen industry. The study conducted to determine the specific impact of leadership on the organizational performance would be included in the particular process to develop the key outcomes. Data Collection and Analysis In order to determine the key reflections from the collected data, correlation coefficient will be utilised primarily for indicating the nature and extent of relationship between the leadership styles or behaviours and the productive performance of the selected enterprises. It will help the study to answer the negative or positive correlation between the depended or independent variables associated with the study. Apart from that, statistical analysis using the tables and graph charts will be applied for measuring the results extracted from the primary data collection process and reaching for the significant outcomes of the study. Expected Research Outcomes The outcome of the research is expected to reveal the positive but insignificant relationships between the leadership styles and behaviours on the followers and performance of the organization. The leadership traits are the main driving force to determine the inspiration and motivations among the subordinates where these characteristics depend largely on the relative situations of the organization.
